Trout may be difficult to locate but catfish (channel and flathead) and smallmouth or largemouth bass are abundant and in feeding mode.

Current fly fishing conditions are still good. The two of us caught about 60 largemouth. Some stretches provide scenic canoeing among long pools and manageable riffles.
Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Sunfish, Crappie, And Crayfish.
Largemouth, smallmouth and roundtail chub are plentiful. There is nothing to show. Verde river in fall above clarkdale is beautiful… caught and released a dozen smallies in w hours at this spot.
It's An Excellent Place To Fish For A Number Of Species Including Trout, Which The Arizona Game And Fish Department Has Begun Stocking On A Put And Take Basis.
Current fly fishing conditions are not so good today. Use plastic worms or creature baits for the bass and even nightcrawlers. Try using square bill crankbaits and spinnerbaits when the fish are more active and slowing it down with a dropshot rig when nothing else seems to be working.
Major River Access Points Are At White Bridge Where State Highway 260 Crossed The River East Of Camp Verde, At Beasley Flats Via Forest Roads 574 And 529, And Near Childs Power Plant Via Forest Roads 708 And 502.
Toss jigs, or use spinnerbaits at varying speeds to pick up a few more fish. The upper east verde river is the creek that flows through the washington park area. Fishermen will find a variety of fish including brown trout, sunfish and rainbow trout here.
